“Awareness in a Box’s innovative and powerful training strongly mirrors the philosophy of Easter Seals . . . treat every individual with respect. Through an entertaining blend of information sharing and hands-on experiences, participants gain helpful insights about people and to embrace our individual differences including people with disabilities.”
ESSC sponsored AIAB training for Vons (Safeway), one of ESSC’s national sponsors. AIAB has trained over 200 Vons district managers, store managers, and assistant store managers since 2012 under the ESSC brand. Here AIAB helped managers become more sensitive in the workplace.
“Great Training! Very informative, educational, well-thought out and well presented. A fun team building event.”
AIAB, has trained the leadership team from Special Olympics in preparation for the 2015 world games in Los Angeles. Here AIAB helped the leadership team become more sensitive to all people of difference. The success of these programs began to spread. AIAB was later invited to train 100 Los Angeles Unified School District special education professionals. This program emphasized social inclusion in schools. AIAB helped educators become more sensitive to the needs of their students and educating their students on awareness amongst each other.
“This has been the missing ingredient. You provided the love needed and the relationship tools to make peoples’ lives healthier and more free.”
The next impact AIAB was able to make was with 300 police officers with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). The results were amazing and beyond what they expected. While the intention was to train the typical population to understand and ultimately include people with autism and disabilities, the training evolved into a “people training.” This program emphasized autism safety with police officers and the impact was life changing for the officers. Leaders reported immediate results with heightened officer sensitivity in the field.
“This was an absolutely incredible experience”
